Yes, and that is the point of the pairing. Kamma covers UK property licensing only: mandatory HMO, additional and selective schemes across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. UK licensing is set by individual local authorities, so it needs local coverage rather than a general compliance module.
Does Kamma change anything in Rex?
No. Kamma reads from Rex and displays the licensing position alongside your records. Nothing in Rex is altered.
How does Kamma decide whether a property needs a licence?
From the address it determines the local authority and which schemes are in force at that location. From the property type and occupancy it determines whether the property falls inside one of them, and what the licence requirement and renewal position is.
What is property licensing, and why does it sit with the agent?
Most UK councils require a licence to let certain properties, either because the property is a house in multiple occupation or because the council has designated an additional or selective licensing scheme covering the area. Letting an unlicensed property that needs a licence can attract a civil penalty of up to 30,000 pounds and a rent repayment order of up to twelve months' rent. Agents are usually the party expected to know.
