The people behind Kamma

The team keeping your portfolio compliant

In-house, full-time, every day.

Property licensing changes street by street, council by council, week by week. Behind every update in Kamma is a permanent team of compliance, engineering and property specialists whose only job is to stay ahead of it, so you don't have to.

Led by
Orla, Chief Executive Officer
Orla
Chief Executive Officer

Orla is CEO and Co-Founder of Kamma, the property compliance platform trusted by many of the UK's leading letting agencies, including Foxtons, Dexters and Hamptons. Under her leadership, Kamma has built the most comprehensive platform on property licensing regulation in the UK, tracking over 370 council licensing schemes across 30 million properties, and become the official licensing partner of the National Residential Landlords Association.

A recognised voice on regulation in the private rented sector, Orla speaks regularly on the Renters' Rights Act, licensing enforcement and what a tightening regulatory landscape means for agents and landlords.

Her expertise in regulation runs deep: she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, managed risk and stress-testing frameworks at the Central Bank of Ireland through the banking crisis, and delivered a £650m infrastructure budget for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Away from work, Orla is a competitive cyclist, ranking 34th at the 2017 UCI World Amateur Cycling Championships.

Council compliance & licence applications

The team that catches every scheme, and files the applications.

Led by Neil, who spent 25 years building data products at Experian and Rakuten before turning that on licensing. The unit stays in direct contact with housing and enforcement teams across 300+ UK local authorities, and every scheme is checked by a person, not by a crawler alone, then re-checked at least quarterly. The same team files licence applications end to end and in-house, including the document preparation and council paperwork that most agencies outsource.

Tom, Business Development Manager
Tom
Business Development Manager

Tom has spent five years in the UK property sector, most notably at Rightmove, helping estate agents get more from the technology and data available to them in a market that never stands still. At Kamma he works with agents to find where licensing creates friction in their week, then shows them how to take that work off their staff, so compliance stops being something anyone has to chase by hand. He measures the job by whether he has made life a little easier for the people he works with. Outside work, football takes up most of Tom's time. He is a lifelong Arsenal fan who gets to the Emirates whenever he can, and sits on the committee at his local club, Twigworth Green FC, which won the league and cup double in its first season. He is hoping to spend more of this one on the pitch than on the physio table. The rest goes on padel, time with his family, and 6am coffee walks with Ralph, his Cavapoo.

His focus is on delivering actionable clarity, ensuring your team is always fully equipped to maximise Kamma's compliance solution. Outside of work, Sam is a passionate creative who can frequently be found frequenting the BFI, playing classical guitar, or producing music.

Alex, Sales Development Representative
Alex
Sales Development Representative

Alex came to Kamma from outside property, with seven years as a personal trainer at David Lloyd and two years in physiotherapy with the NHS, work built almost entirely on reading people and holding a relationship over time. A Psychology degree from Canterbury Christ Church University sharpened the same instinct for understanding what someone actually needs before proposing anything. He brings that to first conversations with letting agents, spending them on where compliance is costing an agency time or money rather than on the product, so agents who go on to speak with the wider team already know why it matters to them. Outside work Alex is usually moving, on a golf course or up a hill, and competes regularly in fitness events for charity. He is also serious about music and film, and once he starts on a film he rates, he does not stop.

By maintaining a highly secure financial framework, she enables Kamma to continuously invest in our elite engineering talent and pioneering council-auditing systems, giving your business absolute confidence that your compliance shield is built on a sustainable foundation. Outside of spreadsheets, Shaoai is likely getting her hands dirty, literally. A lifelong maker, she loves painting, ceramics, sewing and all things craft-related. For the past 3 years, she has been managing all these moving parts while working remotely from the gorgeous Italian seaside.
