teclet and Kamma integration helps solve lettings licensing risks

Press
  • Integrated partnership between leading proptech teclet and regtech provider Kamma reduces burden of compliance for letting agents and property managers.
  • With a total of over 500 mandatory and discretionary schemes already in operation, and another seven set to start in the coming weeks, agents need to take action to reduce their risks and protect themselves against fines.
  • Council enforcement increases and the total fines for non-compliant landlords and agents have now passed the £7.7 million mark in London alone.

19th of July 2022 – Industry leading modular lettings and CRM platform teclet, part of the OnTheMarket Group, and leading regtech provider Kamma, have an integrated partnership to reduce the burden of compliance for lettings agency and property management users.

The integration enables automated licensing checks within teclet, from initial listing, through pre-tenancy and then ongoing, alerting agents and landlords immediately if there are any changes.

Kamma’s data shows that there are licensing changes every eight days across the UK, causing agencies headaches in already economically challenging times. In April this year, 11 new selective and additional licensing schemes started in seven different local authorities including Ealing, Luton, Liverpool, Lewisham and Durham. With a total of over 500 mandatory and discretionary schemes already in operation, and another seven set to start in the coming weeks, agents need to take action to reduce their risks and protect themselves against fines.

The increase in schemes has also come accompanied with an increase in council enforcement and the total fines for non-compliant landlords and agents have now passed the £7.7 million mark in London alone.

The partnership between teclet and Kamma will support agents to stay ahead of any regulatory changes and identify any potential risks in their portfolios.

Kamma’s CEO Orla Shields explains: “We are delighted that our integration with the teclet platforms comes at a time when agencies are facing an increasing compliance burden. Our integration with teclet enables us to deliver our data and local authority coverage across the teclet platform, reducing the burden of compliance to customers, delivering peace of mind and opening up a new revenue stream at a time that agents need it most.”

teclet has a class leading suite of modular platforms including lettings and CRM, together with “best-in-class” client accounting and property maintenance solutions, which provides users with 24/7 access to Kamma data through a seamless integration.

teclet CEO Alan Blockley underlined the importance of bringing best in class partners together: “Our integration with Kamma provides our users with access to live and up to date data on the many and various licensing schemes that exist, and together with the impact on the properties they are letting and managing.”

Alan concludes: “Alongside our other “best-in-class” supplier integrations, the Kamma solution automatically supports the delivery of great service and ensures the peace of mind of a robust and fully compliant approach.”

Ends.
