What are the HMO conditions to obtain a licence in Southend on Sea?
Southend-on-Sea’s HMO standards define specific size and facility requirements to ensure safety and quality in shared accommodations. Bedrooms must have a minimum size of 6.51 square metres for a single occupant and 10.22 square metres for two occupants. Shared kitchens must be at least 7 square metres for up to 5 residents and include 3 double power sockets along with at least 2 metres of work surface. Bathroom facilities must be adequate for the number of occupants, requiring at least one bathroom for every 5 residents and a minimum of 2 WCs and 2 bathrooms for 6-9 occupants.
