MRI Radar integration

Property licensing compliance inside MRI Radar.

Know which properties need a licence across every office MRI Radar covers, rather than a separate answer per branch. Kamma works alongside Radar, formerly CML Software, on the record your team already has open.

What you get

Kamma and MRI Radar, together

One licensing position across every office MRI Radar covers, rather than a separate answer per branch.
Licensing is set by individual local authorities, so a multi-office portfolio spans many scheme regimes at once. Kamma resolves each property to its own.
Hand the application to Kamma's team from the same MRI Radar screen where the requirement appears.
How it works

How Kamma connects to MRI Radar

Three steps, and none of them change your CRM.

1

Add Kamma to your browser

Kamma's connector runs as a browser extension that sits alongside MRI Radar. Your team installs it once. MRI Radar itself is not modified, and there is no migration of your data.

2

Kamma reads the fields it needs

With the connector active, Kamma reads the property and tenancy fields required for a licensing determination out of MRI Radar: the address, the property type and the occupancy. Nobody re-keys anything into a second system.

3

Get the answer where the work happens

The licensing position shows on the portfolio record you have open, and the app's home screen gives your branch's overall compliance position without leaving MRI Radar. Every property also syncs into Kamma Suite, so the full portfolio view and the reporting are there when you want them.

The data

What Kamma reads from MRI Radar

Kamma reads the fields a licensing determination depends on. It does not alter your records.

Field
Why Kamma needs it
Property address
Resolves the property to its local authority and to the licensing schemes in force at that location.
Property type
Distinguishes a self-contained unit from a shared house, which decides whether HMO licensing is in scope at all.
Occupancy and households
How many people live there and how many households they form. This is what decides whether a property is a licensable HMO.
Tenancy dates
Establishes when the letting began and therefore which scheme rules applied, and when a licence renewal falls due.
In your CRM

Answer both licensing questions without leaving MRI Radar.

Open Kamma on a property in MRI Radar and you get two tabs. One tells you what a property would need at a given occupancy. The other tells you where it stands today.

Quick check

What would this property need?

Enter the number of occupants and households, and you get the answer for that address with the reasoning shown. It's the tab for valuations and appraisals, including properties that aren't on your books yet.

It's useful before you type anything: the schemes covering that address, their dates, and what each occupancy level would require.
Schemes that have been announced but haven't started, so your team knows what's coming.
Article 4 directions and HMO planning constraints, which sit outside licensing and are easy to miss.
A licensing report in your own branding, ready to send to the landlord.

Kamma Suite

What the MRI Radar integration unlocks in Kamma Suite

Built for the multi-office case, with compliance across every office filtered by branch, by local authority and by the property manager responsible.

Compliance monitoring across the whole portfolio

Every property that syncs from MRI Radar is monitored against the schemes in force where it sits. Kamma flags what needs a licence, what is in breach, what is expiring, and what will need a licence when an upcoming scheme starts.

A dashboard that says what to do next

Compliance status and the priority actions summarised in one view, so the team knows where the time is best spent rather than working down a list of everything.

Email alerts without logging in

A portfolio compliance snapshot by email, so whoever owns lettings compliance sees the position and the priority actions without opening Kamma at all.

Schemes before they start

Kamma tracks newly announced schemes and works out which of your properties will need a licence when one begins. That is the window in which applications are calm and cheap rather than urgent.

Filters that match how the work is actually done

Filter your MRI Radar portfolio by compliance status, licence type required, licence expiry, local authority, branch, the property manager responsible, or properties caught by an upcoming scheme. Action Required surfaces applications in progress and incomplete or unrecognised addresses.

Article 4 and HMO planning constraints

See whether a property sits in an Article 4 direction area, where permitted development rights are restricted and planning permission may be needed before a conversion to an HMO. London properties are also flagged where room sizes may fall below the minimum standards.

Licence conditions tracked as work, not paperwork

Fire safety works, electrical inspections and the other conditions a council attaches to a licence can be logged and tracked to completion, with a property marked non-compliant if a task falls overdue.

Tenancy changes that change the answer

Concurrent tenancies at one property are aggregated so occupants and households produce the correct licence requirement, which is what room-by-room HMO letting needs. More than one licence can sit against a property, so a renewal can be tracked while the existing licence stays in place.

An audit trail you can show a council

A full history of changes to a property and its licensing information, with the timestamp and the person who made each change.

FAQ

MRI Radar and Kamma, common questions

Does Kamma work with MRI Radar?

Yes. Kamma reads the property and tenancy fields it needs from MRI Radar and shows each property's UK licensing position alongside the record.

Is MRI Radar the same as CML Software?

It is the same product under a newer name. MRI acquired CML and the platform is now MRI Radar. If you know it as CML, Kamma connects to it either way.

We run several offices on MRI Radar. How does Kamma handle that?

Licensing obligations are set per local authority, so a multi-office portfolio usually sits across many different scheme regimes. Kamma resolves each property to the authority it is actually in and applies that authority's schemes, then rolls the result up so you can see the group position and the branch position.

Do we need the MRI Sales and Lettings integration as well?

Only if you run both products. They are separate MRI platforms and Kamma connects to each. Agencies running Radar for management and Sales and Lettings for front office can have both connected.

A property isn't showing in Kamma. What's happened?

Either it hasn't synced yet, which newly added properties often haven't, or the address couldn't be matched to a real property. Check whether it appears in Kamma Suite: if it does, the next sync will pick it up; if it doesn't, correcting the address in your CRM will fix it.

What does "Unknown" mean on a property?

That Kamma couldn't determine the position, usually because it doesn't hold the occupancy information yet. It isn't the same as "No licence required", which means Kamma has checked and nothing is needed.

What is property licensing, and why does it sit with the agent?

Most UK councils require a licence to let certain properties, either because the property is a house in multiple occupation or because the council has designated an additional or selective licensing scheme covering the area. Letting an unlicensed property that needs a licence can attract a civil penalty of up to 30,000 pounds and a rent repayment order of up to twelve months' rent. Agents are usually the party expected to know.

What does the integration cost?

CRM connectivity is part of Kamma rather than a separately priced integration. What you pay depends on portfolio size and the tier you need. The pricing page carries the current tiers.
